What happens to setup you saved before subscribing
Setup you save without an active subscription is kept. After checkout, dreamif.ai replays it for you and turns on what you configured.
Skipped and saved for later are different states#
Onboarding tracks two outcomes for a setup step, and they behave differently:
- Skipped. You chose "Add later" or dismissed the step. Nothing was saved, and the step waits for you to come back to it.
- Saved for later. You filled the step in, but it needs a plan to run. dreamif.ai keeps your answers and shows "Saved. This setup will finish after subscribing." The card's button changes from its usual label to Finish after subscribing.
A saved-for-later step is finished work waiting on a payment. You do not have to fill it in again.
What you see while it waits#
- Onboarding and the dashboard "Finish setting up" strip show the step with Finish after subscribing.
- Nurture shows the toast "Nurture saved for later" with the description "Your settings were saved, but this workspace cannot run nurture yet."
- Sync Contacts on People shows "Contact sync is available after subscribing."
- Saving a label configuration is refused with a 402 and the message "Active subscription required".
What replays after checkout#
Once Stripe confirms the payment, the billing page asks dreamif.ai to resume the held work. That pass covers every module marked saved for later:
- Label configuration, including the source you picked.
- Drive scope and context rules.
- Nurture settings and the buyer and seller property setup.
- Research and voice module setup.
It also kicks off the background work that needed a plan: Gmail indexing, Google Contacts sync, contact extraction from your mail, and the Drive folder refresh.
The replay runs once per subscription. Reloading the billing page afterwards does not run it again.
Where checkout drops you#
- Subscribed from the Billing page: back to
/settings/billing?checkout=success. The toast reads "Checkout complete", and the URL clears itself once the page has read it. - Subscribed during onboarding: back into onboarding at the completion step, where the button reads "Activating plan..." and the line below reads "Access is still updating." until Stripe confirms.
- Backed out of Stripe: back to the same page with a "Checkout canceled" toast and the description "You can restart checkout whenever you are ready." Nothing you saved is lost.
If a step still says it is waiting#
Give the page a minute. The replay only starts once Stripe has confirmed the subscription, and confirmation can lag checkout by up to a minute. If the plan itself has not appeared yet, see Checkout complete but access has not updated yet.
If the plan is active and a step still shows Finish after subscribing, open that step and save it again.
