When A Plan Change Takes Effect

New subscriptions take effect after checkout. Changes to an existing subscription happen through the billing portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the billing period.

Subscribing for the first time#

Access opens once Stripe confirms the checkout. dreamif.ai may need a moment to catch up, so reload the page if the new plan does not show immediately. Until it lands, Dashboard, People, Nurture, and Chat still redirect to the billing page.

If you subscribed during onboarding, the completion step shows "Activating plan..." and "Access is still updating." while it waits.

Changing an active subscription#

Open the Stripe billing portal with Manage billing on the Billing page. Changes there land one of two ways. Some apply as soon as Stripe processes them, usually within a few seconds to a minute. Others are queued for the end of the current billing period.

The Billing page tells you which you got. A queued change shows an amber notice with the effective date, reading "Your plan will change to Pro on " or "Your billing will change on ", plus a button that cancels it: Keep Pro for a scheduled downgrade from Pro, Keep Plus or Keep Pro for another queued tier change, and Keep current billing for a cadence or currency change.

Canceling#

Your current plan stays active until the end of the billing period. After that the workspace locks until you subscribe again. See What happens when you cancel at period end.

Some places in the app send you to /billing/start with the plan, interval, and currency already chosen. That page reads "Starting checkout" and hands you to Stripe. If it cannot create the session, it shows the error with Return to setup (when you came from onboarding) or Return to billing.

If the change is not showing#

Reload the page. If it still has not updated after a couple of minutes, see Why a plan change may take a moment to appear.
