Pause Vs Disable Nurture For A Contact
Paused stops follow-ups temporarily — you can resume anytime. Disabled permanently stops nurture and removes scheduled touchpoints. When in doubt, pause.
When to pause#
Pause keeps the door open. Use it when:
- A contact asked you to check back in a few months.
- You are going on vacation and do not want follow-ups going out while you are away.
- The timing is not right, but the contact is still a prospect.
Pausing works as a snooze. Follow-ups automatically resume when the contact re-engages — for example, they reply to an email, or you add a note to their record. You can also manually switch them back to Nurturing from the Nurture tab on their detail sheet.
When to disable#
Disable means you are done with this person. Use it when:
- They bought a house with another agent.
- They moved out of your market.
- They told you they are not looking anymore.
- They are now your active client and you are communicating directly.
When you disable nurture, any scheduled touchpoints for that contact are removed. You can re-enable it later, but those touchpoints do not come back — dreamif.ai starts fresh.
The safe default#
If you are on the fence, pause. Pausing costs you nothing and keeps everything intact. You can disable later if you decide the contact truly does not need follow-ups anymore.
