Call dreamif.ai by phone

Once your number is verified, use the Call by phone button in Chat or dial the assistant directly. You get the same assistant and the same tools as browser voice, with the transcript waiting in Chat afterward.

Start from Chat#

When your composer is empty and phone access is turned on, the Call by phone button takes the place of Send. What it does depends on the device:

  • On a phone, it opens your dialer with the assistant's number already filled in. Tap to call.
  • On a desktop, it opens a dialog showing the number, plus a Call me now button that has the assistant ring your verified number instead.

Call me now needs a PIN on the account. Without one you'll see Set a phone voice PIN first and a Set up a phone PIN link into settings. Set the PIN and the button works. See Set up phone voice access.

If the button isn't there at all, the composer probably isn't empty, or phone access isn't set up yet.

Or dial in yourself#

The number is on the Contact tab of Settings > Voice access, along with a downloadable dreamif.ai Voice contact card. Save the card once and the assistant is a normal contact in your phone from then on.

Dialing in goes like this:

  1. dreamif.ai matches your caller ID against your verified number.
  2. It asks you to Enter your six digit phone voice PIN.
  3. Once the PIN checks out, it answers with "Hi, this is your dreamif.ai assistant. How can I help?"

With Callback before access turned on, step 3 changes. dreamif.ai ends the inbound call and dials your verified number back, and the session starts when you pick up. That way a spoofed caller ID never reaches your account.

Calling from an unverified number#

Anyone calling from a number that isn't verified reaches the public demo assistant instead. It can talk about dreamif.ai, and it has no access whatsoever to your Gmail, calendar, contacts, or drafts. If you dial from a number you haven't verified yet, that's what you get and it's working as intended.

What you can do on the call#

The tool surface is identical to browser voice. Ask it to search Gmail, read a thread, rewrite a draft and send it, check your availability, book time, look up a contact, add a note, or search Drive and the web.

Confirmations work the same way too. Sends and edits are staged, and you say "confirm" to let one through or "cancel" to drop it. See How voice confirmations work.

After you hang up#

The transcript lands in Chat. Open Chat and scroll the thread to read back what was said and check anything you sent.

Coming back into the app from a phone session can pass through a short handoff page reading Completing sign in, then Sign in complete. Redirecting... before it drops you where you were going. That's expected, and it clears on its own.

How long a call can run#

A call stops at 60 minutes, the same cap a browser session has. Phone minutes and browser minutes come out of one quota, which is 2 hours per billing period on Plus and unlimited on Pro. See Understand voice usage and resets.
