Cancel a pending send by voice

Say "cancel" before you say "confirm" and the send is dropped. The draft stays in Gmail exactly as it was, ready to keep editing.

Say "cancel"#

Say "cancel" out loud, or type cancel in the composer. The staged send is dropped and nothing leaves your account.

Saying "send this draft" doesn't send anything on its own. It stages the send and waits for you, and dreamif.ai says so: "Reply confirm to apply it, or cancel to stop." Until you confirm, the message is still sitting in Gmail as a draft.

What survives the cancel#

Everything. The draft stays in Gmail with the recipients, subject, and body it had a second ago. Canceling the send doesn't undo edits you already applied, and it doesn't delete the draft.

From there you can keep dictating changes, fix the recipients, or leave it and come back to it in Gmail later.

When you'd rather scrap the draft#

Canceling a send and deleting a draft are different asks. Say "delete that draft" if you want it gone, which is itself a staged action you have to confirm. See Delete a draft by voice.

If the send stopped without you canceling#

A staged send can also lapse on its own, usually because it sat unconfirmed too long or because a newer edit replaced it. Why a voice send did not go through covers the reasons and what to do about each one.

Why a voice send did not go through
Sending by voice needs no permission beyond the Gmail access dreamif.ai already has. A send that didn't land is almost always an unconfirmed staged action, a Gmail connection that needs attention, or a plan limit.
