Connect Google Workspace

What is required and what is optional#

At the Connect Google step in onboarding, Gmail and Google Calendar are required. Google Contacts and Google Drive each give you Add now or Add later, and choosing Add later does not hold up the rest of setup.

Adding them later costs nothing beyond one consent screen, so start with what you need and come back for the rest.

Check what is already connected#

Go to Settings > Integrations > Google. The Google access card lists Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts as four tiles, each with its own status. See Understand your Google access status.

The Integrations page has five tabs: Google, Email, Labels, Calendar, and Drive. Google is where connections live. The other four are where each service is configured once it is connected.

Connect or reconnect#

1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Google.
2. Find the service in the Google access card.
3. Click Connect on its tile, or Reconnect if access lapsed.
4. Choose the Google account you want to use.
5. Grant the requested permissions. Google only asks for that one service.
6. Return to dreamif.ai and confirm the tile status changed.

Finish the setup for each service#

Access is one thing; settings are another. A tile that reads Configure has working Google access and is waiting on you:

• Calendar: on the Calendar tab, turn on Calendar automation, then set your availability. See Set working hours and notice windows.
• Drive: on the Drive tab, turn on Drive automation and pick a Search scope. See Selected folders vs full Drive.
• Contacts: run your first sync from the People page. See Sync contacts from Google.
• Gmail: usually ready once connected. Watch for a reconnect banner on the dashboard.

If only one service is missing#

You do not need to start over or re-grant anything that already works. Reconnect that one service from its tile, grant the access Google asks for, and finish its setup.
