What AI Preferences Can And Cannot Change

AI preferences control how dreamif.ai writes, when it drafts, and which tools it may use. They do not override safety rules, Google permissions, or confirmation before a send.

What you can control#

Setting What it changes
Reply criteria Which emails get a draft reply.
Drafting style How those replies read.
Auto-draft replies and the controls under it Whether replies get drafted at all, how selective drafting is, and how long unsent drafts stay.
Nurture email style and follow-up timing preferences How follow-ups sound and how timing you mention is read.
Research & Tools Whether Calendar, Drive, and web research may run, and how they are used.

A well-written preference genuinely changes what you get back.

What you cannot override#

No matter what you write in your preferences:

  • dreamif.ai will not send an email without your confirmation. Sends come from the Send button or from a staged action you confirm in your reply.
  • dreamif.ai will not reach into Google services you have not granted permission for.
  • dreamif.ai will not bypass safety checks or produce harmful content.

"My preference seems to be ignored"#

When a preference does not seem to be doing anything, a higher-priority rule is usually taking precedence:

  • You wrote "reply to everything" but some mail gets no draft. Built-in filters still skip obvious spam and automated messages, and the confidence setting on Drafting behavior may be set to Only when highly confident.
  • You wrote "send without asking" but dreamif.ai still confirms. Confirmation before a send cannot be turned off. See Understand chat confirmations.
  • You wrote tool guidance that never seems to apply. A tool set to Off on Research & Tools stays off, and guidance does not re-enable it.

Your preference saved correctly in each of those cases. A product rule is taking priority.

Where voice instructions live now#

Voice behavior is no longer set here. Speaking style sits at Settings > Voice access > Instructions and covers both browser voice and phone calls. See Set your speaking style.
